The Hawaiian Malolo team have sourced the highest quality rigging products available which includes a Centro 400 pound stainless steel ball bearing tournament coast lock swivel that you attaches to your lure. 600 pound stainless steel multi strand wire is run through the Hawaiian Malolo body to allow for maximum movement and reduce loss if a wahoo or mackerel were to eat the bird.
Each end of the rigging includes a stainless steel thimble for maximum protection from wear and are secured with double barrel crimps. A soft rubber bead is placed on the wire between the tail of the bird and the rear crimp to make sure the Malolo has the freedom to move without wearing on the crimp.
All aspects of the bird movement are factored into the rigging to maximize your continued success. Like all offshore trolling equipment, the Malolos and rigging mast be washed with freshwater after use, completely dried before being stored and continuously checked for normal wear over time. If the bird requires new rigging, simply cut the wire, removing the thimbles and swivel to re-use.
Cut a 14″ section of 600 lb stainless wire and follow the rigging that came with the bird for replacement. You will be ready for more exciting action in your spread.
